'Battle' in the sky for $2b Mindef deal
The F-15 Strike Eagle and Dassault Rafale at the Asian Aerospace airshow will remain after the show for flight tests, these fighters are expected to be pitted against front-line aircraft of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), like the F-16C/D and upgraded F-5 Tiger II, in a competition to replace RSAF's A-4 Super SKyhawks. The Eurofighter will arrive around June for the trials, in its first trip outside Europe.
