Roche: F/A-22's Readiness For Key Testing Phase Is 'Iffy'
U.S. Air Force Secretary James Roche acknowledged that the F/A-22 Raptor may not be ready to begin its initial operational test and evaluation phase in two weeks as planned. The Air Force is also considering upgrading part of its F-15C Eagle fleet to give the air-to-air fighter an improved ground-attack capability. The upgraded F-15Cs might be called "Golden Eagles."
