Apache pilot awarded Distinguished Flying Cross
Capt. Ryan Welch, a U.S. Army helicopter gunship pilot, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for leading a rescue of two American fliers wounded in a deadly helicopter crash south of Baghdad last fall.
