Raptor enters final phase of testing
The
Follow-On Test and Evaluation (FOT&E) of the F/A-22 at Nellis Air Force Base allows testers to evaluate software and hardware upgrades intended to address deficiencies identified during initial operational test and evaluation earlier this year.
The F/A-22 failed to meet the required 85% mission-capable rate because of immature diagnostics and maintenance procedures and parts unreliability. There were also questions on servicing the low-observable characteristics of the Raptor on the flightline.
