Air Force wants ban lifted on plane retirements
U.S. Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne told the House Armed Services Committee that his service has identified an unfunded requirement for seven more C-17s in Iraq.
He urged lawmakers to lift the congressional ban on retiring the oldest C-5 cargo aircraft so that money can be freed up to buy more C-17s.
