Chenevert says Pentagon will save billions by leaving JSF engine to Pratt
United Technologies Corp. President and Chief Operating Officer Louis Chenevert has told the Senate Armed Services Committee that using his company's Pratt & Whitney F135 engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter will save the Pentagon as much as $6 billion over the 30-year life of the project.
He added that Rolls-Royce is a partner with Pratt & Whitney with the F135 project and it stands to win whether there is an alternative engine or not.
