Laser JDAM turns attention to precision bomb battle
Boeing's JDAM is facing competition from dual-mode variants of the Paveway laser-guided bomb as it plans to add a laser seeker to its JDAM guidance kit.
Boeing is expecting a USN contract for dual-mode JDAM while Lockheed is under contract to develop a dual-mode version of the 500lb Paveway II for the USMC. Raytheon, meanwhile, is already producing the dual-mode Enhanced Paveway II for the RAF.
