RI considers buying Chinook choppers
Indonesia wants to buy Chinook helicopters to support humanitarian and other nonmilitary activities in the country, Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono said Thursday.
The ministry's Director General for Planning Affairs, Yuwendi, said Boeing did make an offer to supply Chinooks after the tsunami struck in Dec. 2004 but the offer was turn down.
