US general says DoD could shift gears on missile warning tech
Lt. Gen. Michael Hamel, head of the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, said the alternative system to the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) will use newer technology than the main SBIRS system.
The SBIRS alternative is intended to force the main SBIRS program back on track.
