Air Force eyes 80 new helicopters
The Indian Air Force wants to add 80 more Mi-17 helicopters to its fleet. While Sikorsky's product was considered, IAF decided to stick to Mi-17s because buying the Sikorsky would required a tender.
IAF also felt more comfortable using the Mi-17 which it currently has.
