The force is withering from the Air Force
After years of decline, the Indian Air Force will slowly rebuild its fighter squadrons from 26 to 45 from 2008.
One of the options taken is to ask Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to speed up the production of Su-30 MKIs. HAL has been asked to complete the production of 140 MKIs in 11 instead of 15 years.
