Pentagon Once Again Considers Merger of USAF, Navy Sigint
Top U.S. Air Force and Navy officials will have to decide this year on whether to merge their airborne signals intelligence programs and add unmanned options to their fleet.
Both services differ in their views in using the P-8 Multimission Maritime Aircraft as a sigint platform. Gen. T. Michael Moseley, Air Force chief of staff, feels that the 737 lack the space for adequate antenna separation to avoid interference.
