Scott Crossfield (1921-2006)
Scott Crossfield, the first man to reach Mach 2, has died in a plane crash in Georgia. His Cessna 210A was found Thursday in the mountains about 50 miles northwest of Atlanta.
This picture shows Scott Crossfield (in blue jacket) with Terry Queijo at the wing tip of the 1903 Wright Flyer replica at Wright Brothers Memorial, Kill Devil Hills on Dec. 14 2003. They were doing a reheresal for the replica's flight on Dec. 17.
