Time's up for F-111s
Moves are under way to retire Australia's F-111s in 2008 instead of 2010. Officials are concern with rising costs and increase risks to aircrews.
Tens of millions of dollars are being spent every month so that 28 F-111s can stay in the air. This amount is eating into the RAAF budget.
