U.S. aims to kick off air tanker contest by end-Sept (Free Registration)
The USAF will start its competition for refueling tankers by the end of September, and pick a winner by summer 2007.
Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne told reporters he expects the Air Force to issue a draft request for industry proposals by September 30.
