The 2018 Bomber and Its Friends
Plans to develop a new bomber by 2018 is just part of a three-phase long-range strike modernization program.
Existing bombers will be upgrade to be combat-ready into the 2030s. But the final phase will be the fielding, around 2035, of a true "next generation" long-range strike weapon.
