One of the fighter jets dispatched on Sept. 11, 2001, to be saved
An F-15A from the 102nd Fighter Wing that first responded to the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in New York City has been saved from the scrap heap.
They were supposed to be retired and dismantled for parts until a group of people petitioned successfully to save it.
