Govt to pick distant location for U.S. air drills
Tokyo intends to pick a new site for carrier-based aircraft of the U.S. Navy's Atsugi Air Facility more than 180 kilometers from the U.S. Marine Corps' Iwakuni Air Station.
The U.S. military has requested a permanent site within 180 kilometers of Iwakuni Air Station.
