Germany Split Over Plane Deployment to Afghanistan
German politicians are split over the decision to send Tornados ECR to Afghanistan. The ruling party says there is no need for parliamentary approval.
The opposition claims that the mandate approved by parliament only allow troops in the relatively stable north of Afghanistan. The Tornados will be deployed to Southern Afghanistan.
