Commander: F-16's gear maintenance is 'big issue'
Gen. Bruce Carlson of the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command said his command would focus on finding ways to possibly cut the hours required to maintain the F-16 landing gear.
The F-16 landing gear requires a 150 hour inspection for every 1,600 flight hours.
Engineers will try to reduced the number of hours required for the inspection or to increase the hours between inspection.
