New troop carriers 'too heavy for RAF to transport'
A new generation of air-deployable armored vehicles for the British Army may be too heavy for most RAF transports and perhaps the A400m as well.
Experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan demonstrated the need for extra armor and this has pushed its basic weight from 18 tons to 22 tons.
