Tajik air base is ready, gives India its first footprint in strategic Central Asia
Tajikistan's Ayni air base has been refurbished by India and the Indian Air Force is seeking approval to start operations there.
Under a Rs 80 crore program, the Indians extended the runway, secured perimeter fencing and built aircraft hangars.
