Court backs air base noise claim
The High Court of Nagoya, Japan on Monday upheld a lower court ruling ordering the state to pay compensation to residents near Komatsu Air Base for noise from Japanese Air Self-Defense Force and U.S. military aircraft.
A group of 1,576 people had filed the lawsuit against the state to stop flights of military airplanes early in the morning and at night and pay compensation for the noise pollution.
