Futenma key in '96 U.S. Korea crisis plan
U.S. documents obtained by Kyodo News showed that Pentagon would deploy some 300 carrier-borne helicopters and aerial tankers at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Futenma in Okinawa in response to a Korean emergency.
There will be 71 helicopters and aerial tankers during peace time, this will surge with the addition of 142 more aircraft during an emergency. And if this escalates into a battle, 87 more will be added.
