Senator keeps program for alternate fighter jet engine alive
Former U.S. Senate Armed Services Chairman John Warner was won a battle to keep the F136 engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter alive.

During a closed meeting on Thursday, Warner was able to overturn a decision by the Armed Services Airland Subcommittee to accept the Pentagon's request to scrap the so-called alternate engine.
