BAE in talks with Mitsubishi
BAE Systems is in discussions with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy to license the manufacturing of the Eurofighter if it wins the FX competition.
Nigel Whitehead, group managing director of BAE's military air solutions, said BAE is in discussions with Mitsubishi Heavy (MHI) about a progressive license manufacturing agreement.
"The idea is that we would transfer the ability to manufacture the aircraft to [Mitsubishi] and they could have the ability to upgrade and develop the aircraft themselves."
