Taiwan "ready to buy 60 warplanes from the US"
A Taiwanese lawmaker has refuted a news report that a senior U.S. official will travel to Taiwan to persuade incoming President Ma Ying-jeou to approve the purchase of F-16C/D fighter jets.
Lin Yu-fang, a member of the parliament's defence committee, said Taiwan is ready and will pass the budget once Washington approves the sale.
