France says UAE in talks to buy Rafale jets
The French president's office confirmed on Thursday that the United Arab Emirates is in talks with France to buy Rafale fighters to replace its fleet of 63 Mirage 2000 jets.
"The discussions will continue in the weeks ahead," President Nicolas Sarkozy's office said.
The confirmation came after a UAE official was quoted by the state WAM news agency as saying that the country wants the Rafale to replace its Mirage 2000 fighters in 2013.
