VT Group and BAE Systems agree merger to build warships
BAE Systems and VT Group have agreed to merge their businesses and create one single national shipbuilding firm in order to build aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy.
The new company will be called BVT Surface Fleet and the merger could see VT Group, formerly Vosper Thorneycroft finally exit shipbuilding in three years’ time after more than a century in the industry.
