Japan to cut aircraft orders Tokyo wants to make a 2.2% increase to its defense budget for fiscal year 2009 and buy only 24 new aircraft.

Money will be spent to update the F-2 fighter with JDAM capability and upgrade its E-2C and 767 AWACS aircraft.
