Vote: U.S. officials forced IAI out of Indian MRCA fighter contest
This story reminds me of the same
dirty tricks used by American officials during the South Korean AEW&C contest. The Jerusalem Post reports that Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has been forced to back out of a joint partnership with Saab to offer the Gripen IN fighter to India.
The IAI was supposed to supply the radar, communications and electronic-warfare for the Gripen IN and now the Pentagon has forced the IAI to back out of the deal over concerns that American technology in the systems could make its way into India.
Israeli officials believe the real reason could be that the Americans fear the entry of the Gripen IN would force Boeing and Lockheed Martin to offer lower prices for their offerings.
