GE, Rolls pitches fixed-price on F136, Gates explains opposition
General Electric and Rolls-Royce has offered to sell 100 F136 engines for the F-35 program at a fixed-price.
The low-rate production engines are to be built between 2013 and 2015.
Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has explained his opposition to the second engine.
