U.S. officials: China could have operational aircraft carrier by 2012
U.S. officials told the lawmakers on Jan. 13 that China could have an operational aircraft carrier by 2012.
Wallace Gregson, assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific security affairs, added that China may be interested in building multiple operational aircraft carriers by 2020.
