Pilot error lead to E-3 crash at Nellis
The E-3 AWACS crashing landing at Nellis AFB August last year was caused by pilot error, the investigation board concluded.
The co-pilot, who had logged only 132 hours in E-3s, put the plane into a steeper than normal approach which broke the nose landing gear upon touch down.
