Gates: Lopsided F-35 costs "drove me nuts"
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said a plant involved in the production of the F-35 had 70 percent of its overhead funded by taxpayers and JSF work used only 6 percent of the floor space.
Speaking at a hearing for the House of Representatives Appropriations subcommittee on defense, Gates also threatens to recommend a presidential veto of any legislation that funds the F136 and C-17.
