Possible deployment of MV-22 to Okinawa could affect base relocation
The plan to relocate the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Futenma to Camp Schwab, Okinawa could run into further trouble as an environmental impact assessment may have to be redone if a decision to base MV-22s on the island goes ahead.

Japan's Parliamentary Secretary for Defense Akihisa Nagashima said the Ospreys are set to deploy from October 2012 and the current plan does not include the Osprey deployment.

Nagashima added that his government will back off from a plan to relocate the base off the island.
