Britain’s Guardian newspaper said it has proof that Israel had offered to sell nuclear warheads to South Africa in 1975.
Documents uncovered by an American academic researching Israel’s ties with South Africa’s then-white minority government claims that Israeli President Shimon Peres, then defense minister, had offered the warheads “in three sizes”.
Peres on Monday categorically denied the report.
