Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $517 million contract where it will develop three Long Endurance Multi-Intelligence Vehicle (LEMV) systems for the U.S. Army.
These airships will hover at 20,000 feet for a three-week period to provide eyes to ground troops in Afghanistan.
