During a Defense Writers Group breakfast meeting yesterday, Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, refuted Robert Gates’ claim that there was an engine competition for the F-35.
Levin said: “Did he [Gates] say there has been competition? Then he’s wrong.”
