Ex-USAF official: Washington “way past due” to sell F-16s to Taiwan

The former U.S. Air Force’s deputy under secretary for international affairs, Bruce Lemkin, told Reuters in an interview that Washington is “way past due” to sell F-16C/Ds to Taiwan.

“Acquiring new F-16s, in my view, is about maintaining the very same deterrent capability that we helped Taiwan achieve in the late 1990s,” Lemkin said.
