DARPA has initiated project ArcLight, a program to launch a hypersonic glider using the U.S. Navy’s standard Mk41 vertical launch system (VLS).
The glider will make use of the Standard SM-3 Block II booster stack to carry a 100-200lb payload 2,000nm in 30min.
