Tests conducted by the U.S. Air Force’s Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) found that the F136 produced 15 percent more thrust at sea level compared to its Pratt & Whitney rival.
Actual thrust achieved in the test remains undisclosed, but it is in excess of 40,000 lb, Aviation Week reported.
