Methanol poisoning suspected in Russian deaths at Indonesian air base

Indonesian authorities said high concentrations of methanol were found in the bodies of three Russian aircraft technicians who died mysteriously this week.

Brig. Gen. Boediono, the head of the National Police’s forensics laboratory, said the level of methanol inside their bodies were ten times higher than the lethal amount.

Methanol is commonly used in Indonesia bootleg liquor but it is used in the maintenance of Sukhoi aircraft as well.
