Royal Navy could be reduced to the smallest size since Henry VIII

The Telegraph reported that Royal Navy admirals have decided to reduce the size of their fleet in order to save both planned aircraft carriers.

The surface fleet will consists of six Type 45 destroyers and six Type 23 frigates. Its submarine fleet would reduce to seven Astutes and four Tridents.

Minsters also discussed converting HMS Queen Elizabeth into a helicopter platform that would ultimately replace HMS Ocean.
