North Korea shows new missiles to world

The folks over at Arms Control Wonk have been pouring over the videos of the military parade on Sunday celebrating the 65th anniversary of North Korea’s Workers Party. And their efforts were not wasted as two new missiles have been identified.

One is the Musudan intermediate-range ballistic missile which has a range of 3000-4000km. It has been speculated that this missile is based on the Soviet R-27 submarine-launched ballistic missile. The other is a variant of the Nodong missile which has an Iranian-style triconic nosecone.
