The U.S. Air Force has started its search for a fighter to replace its F-22 by 2030.
The new aircraft must be able to operate in the “anti-access/area-denial environment that will exist in the 2030-2050 timeframe,” the Air Force Materiel Command said in its notice to industry dated Nov. 3.
