The U.S. Navy has shortlisted NAS Lemoore and NAF El Centro as potential sites to host 100 F-35Cs on the West Coast of continental United States.
Under the plan, 109 F/A-18Cs will be replaced by seven squadrons of 10 aircraft and one fleet replacement squadron with 30 aircraft.
