Australia set up weapon-locating radar system in Afghanistan

A weapon-locating radar system comprising of a leased SAAB Giraffe radar with a few counter-mortar radars have been set up in the Australian camp in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan.

The system was up and running five-months ahead of schedule and replaces equipment previously provided by the Singapore Armed Forces.
