Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou yesterday apologized personally to the family of Air Force private Chiang Kuo-ching, who was wrongfully executed by the military 14 years ago for the rape and murder of a five-year-old girl.
“I have instructed the Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Justice to fully assist the family so Chiang can be declared innocent and his family obtain compensation,” Ma said.
