Vice Admiral Scott Van Buskirk, commander of the US 7th fleet, said Washington will boost its forces in the Pacific as China develops an aircraft carrier.
Among the changes are the deployment of a new Littoral combat ship, having fighter squadrons upgraded, attack submarine attack capabilities increased, and surface destroyers rekitted to “boost their ability to detect and kill enemy submarines.”
